Makan @ JB

Been travelling quite a bit to JB recently. With the new Malaysian Immigration Checkpoint, it's quite easy to walk to City Square without getting any exposing yourself to the heat of the sun. Only thing i didn't really like about the new checkpoint is where you're going back to S'pore, the walk is SUPER LONG!

That aside, I still like JB much in terms of shopping, food and pampering ourselves. Look out for SETTers' update on different shopping/food/pampering spots in JB!

Fellow SETTer brought me to this restaurant - 鸭王(ya wang). It's about 10 mins walk from City Square. Not exactly a restaurant restaurant, but more like a air-conditoned coffee-shop. It's famous for it's duck meat cooked in different style and different chinese herbs. Oh, did i mention that this is advisor to the famous 店小二 (dian xiao er)? So you can roughly imagine how the food taste there.

We paid about RM32 each for the above dishes - beancurd, duck meat (can't remember which style we chose), beansprout and a sweet and sour fish. Personally, every dish was good except the fish, not very fresh i guessed. But all in all, it was worth the try and it's not too pricey.

The other all-time favourite of the SETTers is Nando's chicken at City Square. We paid about RM23 for a yummy quarter chicken with 2 side dishes. For those who haven't tried Nando's, you can choose the 'flavor' of you chicken - lemon & herb or 3 different level of spicyness.

More makan places to intro soon!
